GOV. UGWUANYI DEEPENS RURAL ROAD CONSTRUCTION IN ENUGU STATE

The People of Ehamufu in Isiuzo Local Government Area of Enugu State have heaved a sigh of relief as reconstruction of over eight kilometers of road commences in the area.

The Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwu, said at a ceremony to mark the beginning of the work that the Ehamufu/Nkalagu Road was a major gateway to the North.

The Road, which is said to be historic, is one of the oldest Federal Government roads in Nigeria.

Governor Ugwuanyi, explained that the project was imperative in a bid to alleviate the sufferings of the rural dwellers and revitalize the agriculture industry in the area.

He said that the last time effort was made for the reconstruction of the road was 37 years ago.

Chief Ugwuanyi said that apart from the reconstruction of the eight kilometer road, the rehabilitation would be extended to Ikem community and that the contractor had been fully mobilized to site.

Earlier, the Chairman of Isiuzo Local Government Area, Mr. Edwin Edeoga commended the State Government for the gesture.

The event had many Stakeholders from the area, who took their turn to express appreciation to the Governor for giving the State a face lift.
