GOV NWIFURU TASKS NEW CP ON IMPROVED SECURITY IN EBONYI

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has charged the new Commissioner of Police deployed to the state, Mrs. Augustina Ogbodo, to intensify efforts with other heads of security agencies to sustain the fight against criminals.

He stated this during a banquet organized for the retired Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Olayele Faleye, at the Government House Abakaliki.

Chief Nwifuru, who said he was impressed with the achievements of Mr. Falaye during his stint, pointed out the arrest of fifteen hoodlums enforcing illegal sit at home order and that of suspected kidnappers, who allegedly shot dead an INEC staff and abducted his wife in Ivo Local Government Area, as remarkable.

He urged the new Commissioner to also secure the state like her predecessor, noting that she would be given the necessary support.
