GOV MBA INSISTS ON NO MORE SIT-AT-HOME IN ENUGU

REPORTER: OKECHUKWU EZEONA

Governor Peter Mba of Enugu State has declared an end to Monday sit-at-home in the state effective from Monday, June 5, 2023, saying that such order restricts creativity, entrepreneurship, and productivity in the state.

He, however, begged President Bola Tinubu to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from detention to quicken the much needed healing process in Nigeria.

Governor Mba declared this at the end of his security meeting with the heads of all security agencies in Enugu State, at Government House, Enugu.

At the meeting, which also had the Deputy Governor, Mr. Ifeanyi Ossai, and the Secretary to the State Government SSG, Professor Chidi Onyia in attendance, Governor Mba reminded the people of Enugu State that he had hit the ground running on the day of his inauguration by signing three Executive Orders, including Executive Order 002 for the removal of Unauthorized Street Barriers Across the state within one hundred days, for the good governance of the state.

He described the idea of sitting at home on Monday, the first day of the week, as abominable and antithetical to greatness and the spirit of industry the south east profess.

Governor Mba reiterated his call to the President, Bola Tinubu for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, which he said was important to the healing of the country, and also a pointer to his administration’s extension of brotherly hand of fellowship to Ndigbo.
