GOC 82 DIVISION, NIGERIA ARMY ENUGU CALLS FOR TRAINING OF MORE PERSONNEL IN DISASTER MANAGEMENT

IMG_20170925_155100_690Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State says disasters in the country has reached an alarming rate.

Chief Ugwuanyi who stated this in Enugu at a two day interactive forum on “Emergency Preparedness and Response”: called for urgent action to prevent loss of lives and property occasioned by disasters

Also speaking, the General Officer Commanding 82 Division, Nigerian Army Enugu, Major General Adamu Baba Abubakar described disaster as a catastrophe which required adequate attention and called for the training of more personnel in disaster management.

The Executive Secretary of Enugu State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Mrs Nkechi Eneh said that disaster management called for proactive response by all stakeholders to nip it in the bud.

The event attracted officers of the Nigerian Army, Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, National Emergency Management Agencies, World Health Organization and UNICEF.
