NIGERIA AIRFORCE TOLD TO MONITOR OIL FACILITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO CHECK OIL THEFT

Nigerian Airforce_1Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has called for air surveillance on oil facilities across the country to check increasing economic losses from oil theft and sabotage of national assets by criminal elements.

Governor Ikpeazu made the call when he received a delegation from the Nigeria Airforce Ground Training Command Enugu at Government House Umuahia.

The Governor said with the dynamism of crime, it had become imperative to adopt proactive measures in crime prevention and control .

He stressed the need for Information Communication Technology, ICT, driven initiative to make the nation unsafe for vandals.

The Air Officer Commanding,  Nigeria Airforce Ground Training Command, Enugu, Air Vice Marshal Samson Abasa  outlined areas of interest of the Command to include addressing herdsmen-farmers clash, kidnapping, separatist agitations.

He pledged the readiness of the Command in working with the State Government to promote security in the area.
