GLOBAL COMMUNITY OBSERVES WORLD OSTEOPOROSIS DAY
Nigerians today join the global community to observe World Osteoporosis Day.
Osteoporosis is a condition characterized by a decrease in the density of bone, decreasing its strength, and resulting in fragile bones.
Osteoporosis literally leads to abnormal porous bone that is compressible, like sponge.
Studies by the National Osteoporosis Foundation indicate that approximately one in two women in menopause age and up to one in four men, aged fifty will break a bone due to osteoporosis.
The research also proves that the illness is common in America and Africa.
