PARENTS URGED TO DISREGARD RUMOURS ON DEADLY IMMUNIZATION AND PRESENT THEIR CHILDREN FOR ROUTINE IMMUNIZATION
Pediatrics Association of Nigeria has advised Parents and Caregivers to avail their children and wards of Immunization Programmes organized by the Federal Ministry of Health.
The President of the Association, Dr. Ngozi Ibeziako gave the advice during a visit to Radio Nigeria Enugu.
Dr. Ibeziako urged Parents to shun the recent rumour on deadly monkey pox immunization and make their children and wards available for routine immunization by the Ministry.
Dr. Ibeziako said the Association’s Campaign was in line with the pronouncement by the Minister of Health after this week’s Federal Executive Council Meeting in Abuja.
She also said that the immunization was based on the nation’s health care schedule.
Dr. Ibeziako further explained that Immunization Programmes for infants and children against communicable and non-communicable diseases were global initiatives by the World Health Organization.
She pleaded with media outfits, schools, religious leaders and traditional rulers to help promote Immunization Campaigns.
