FRSC PLANS OPERATION SHOW YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE IN ANAMBRA

REPORTER: OBY ARINZE

Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Sector Command is to intensify enforcement of use of
drivers licence and deal with violators.

A statement by the command’s Education Officer, Mrs. Margaret Onabe, indicates that the Command will be carrying out a state-wide special exercise tagged “Operation Show Your Drivers License”, beginning from 4th April, 2023.

It states that photocopies or covering notes will not be acceptable; “only the permanent or temporary Drivers license will be accepted.”

It describes the operation as a response to the discovery that many drivers within Anambra State ply the road without valid Nigeria’s driver’s licenses.

The release advises citizens yet to collect their permanent drivers license to do so from the Board of Internal Revenue, while those with expired drivers documents should renew them.

It also advices drivers without drivers license to apply through the proper channels to acquire it.

A driver’s license is a legal authorization permitting eligible citizens to operate one or more types of motorized vehicles such as: motorcycles, cars, trucks, or buses on a public road.
