FOUR PERSONS HIT BY STRAY BULLETS – PPRO ANAMBRA STATE

Four persons have been hit by stray bullets fired by an armed robber at Regina Ceali Junction  Awka ,  Anambra state.

The suspect,  Chukwuemeka Afor is said to hail from Akpugo,  Nkanu West local government area of Enugu state. The hoodlum who was armed with automatic Pump action riffle was firing indiscriminately before allegedly snatching a bag containing unspecified amount of money from Mr  Ebuka Ukeakpu.

He was almost lynched by mob before he was arrested by police operatives who responded swiftly to the distress call . The firearm and the snatched money were recovered while the wounded persons were rushed to  Police hospital Awka including the suspect who was beaten to stupor.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations  Officer in the state ,  Mr Haruna Muhammed said the  victims were responding to treatment while the case is under investigation .

He revealed that the bag recovered contained three point five million Naira
