ENUGU SEMA GIVES SUCCOUR TO VICTIMS OF WINDSTORM IN TWO COMMUNITIES

Affected victims of rain and wind storm in Ebe Community, Udi Local Government Area and Eziokwe Amuri in Nkanu West Local Government Area have heaved a sigh of relief following the intervention of the Enugu State Government in providing succor for them.

The victims had their farmlands, economic trees, a car, perimeter fences, roof tops, houses, and document destroyed by the rainstorm last month.

Narrating their ordeal, the victims said the wind and rainstorm destroyed property worth millions of naira.

The Governor who was represented by the Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Mrs. Nkechi Eneh, said the State Government had equipped the Agency to attend to emergencies associated with natural disaster in the State.

The Local Government Council Chairman, Nkanu West, Mr. Henry Okenwa and the traditional ruler of Ebe Community represented by the Speaker of the Igwe’s Cabinet, Ozo Paul Enu said they were overwhelmed by the Governor’s gesture.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the wind and rainstorm affected over one hundred and twenty households in the two communities.
