ENUGU POLICE COMMAND BEGINS MANHUNT OF ATTACKERS OF IKIRIKI POLICE STATION

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Suleiman Balarabe, has directed that full investigation into the attack on Ikirike Police Station.
The directive is contained in a statement by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu.
Mr. Amaraizu in the statement noted that the attack was carried out by people suspected to be hoodlums.
He stated that the suspected hoodlums went to the station in the early hours of Sunday under the pretext of laying complaint and attacked the police personnel on duty.
Mr. Amaraizu stated that no police personnel lost their life in the attack and that the injured personnel were responding to treatment.
The statement noted that the quick arrival of reinforcement team dispatched by the Commissioner of Police forced the hoodlums to flee, while hunt for the hoodlums had been intensified.
