END OF THE ROAD FOR A WANTED ROBBER IN IMO STATE

The 29 year old suspect who hails from Obazu Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local Government Rea of the State was said to be among a member of a five-man gang that trailed a man to a commercial bank located at Wethedral Road Owerri and disposed him of ₦2.8 million he went to lodge in the bank.
One of the members of the gang, identified as Ikechukwu Opara, was gunned down by the police during the operation while three suspects were arrested few months later.
Briefing Newsmen in Owerri, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, said the remaining alleged member of the gang, Chinonso Onwuegbuchulam, was arrested in his hide out in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Wednesday (February 21, 2018) by men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad attached to his command.
In an interview, the suspect, Chinonso Onwuegbuchulam, who holds a bachelors degree in Government and Public Administration from Imo State University confessed to the crime, stating that he got a share of four ₦400,000 from the ₦2.8 million they stole from the bank.
Items allegedly recovered from the suspects included three AK 47 rifles with 375 rounds of live ammunition and four salon cars.
