EID KABIR: ISLAMIC WOMAN LEADER ADVISES MUSLIMS

The Amira of Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria Imo Chapter, Hajia Ijeoma Emetumah, wants Muslims to emulate the faith and obedience of Abraham by his willingness to offer his only son to Allah as sacrifice.

Hajia Emetumah gave the advice while speaking with radio Nigeria in Owerri on the significance of Eid-el-Kabir.

The Muslim women leader said the celebration, also known as the feast of sacrifice, is in commemoration of the profound act of sacrifice by Prophet Abraham and his willingness to offer his only son to God as an act of obedience and faithfulness.

“Eid Adha commemorating the absolute faith of Abraham and the trust he had in God, and the wonderful mercy that God showed him by substituting the killing of his son with a ram,” she explained.

Mrs. Emetumah also charged Islamic faithful to engage in good deeds and humanitarian services, by supporting the less privileged in the society.

The Amira therefore called on Muslims to ensure that they fasted and pray for Allah to forgive their sins and make them beneficiaries of his blessings.
