EBONYI STATE POLICE COMMAND RECOVERS 146 ILLEGAL FIREARMS IN CIRCULATION
Ebonyi State Police Command has recovered one hundred and forty six illegal firearms as well as large quantity of live ammunition and cartridges of different caliber in circulation in the area.
The Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Titus Lamorde announced this while displaying the arms and ammunition at the Police Headquarters in Abakaliki.
Mr. Lamorde explained that the recovery of the arms was in compliance with a directive by the Inspector General of Police to all police formations to mop up prohibited and illegal arms nationwide.
He noted that the arms were recovered through the hard work of policemen in the command and cooperation of good citizens of the state.
Mr Lamorde assured residents of the readiness of the command to make the state peaceful and free from illegal firearms.
