EBONYI STATE NOW HAS A NEW COMMISSIONER OF POLICE

A new Commissioner of Police, Mr Musa Kimo has assumed duty in Ebonyi State.

This was made known when Mr. Kimo led top officers of the Command on a courtesy visit to Governor David Umahi at Government House Abakaliki.

Mr Kimo replaced Mr. Titus Lamorde who was deployed to Police Detective College Enugu after serving for more than one year in Ebonyi State.

The new Commissioner of Police, Mr Musa Kimo from Bornu State had served at various capacities in the South East and South South Zones as well as in other parts of the country.

Mr Kimo noted that he had been briefed by his predecessor on the level of cooperation existing between the State Government and the Police Command and assured him of his commitment to improve on the gains of Mr Lamorde.

He emphasized that police under his watch would be responsive and reliable and warned criminals to stay clear of Ebonyi State as he would ensure that they have no hiding place.

Governor Umahi stated that he kicked against the deployment of the new Commissioner when it was gathered that his move was influenced by the opposition to undo the State government.

He pointed out that he however changed his views after going through Mr Kimo’s antecedent which distinguished him as a seasoned police officer.

Governor Umahi also received a Board Member representing South East in the National Boundary Commission, Mrs Ugonna Orjiuzo-Kalu with a charge to assist the State Government in resolving the boundary disputes between the people of the State and their neighbours in Abia and Enugu States.
