Ebonyi sets plan to re-establish vigilante groups in all communities in the state.

Gov.Dave-UmahieFollowing various lvels of crime in some communities of Ebonyi State, the state government has announced plans to re-establish vigilante groups in communities in the state.
This followed complaints of criminal activities in Ishiagu community, home of former Senate President, Senator Any­im Pius Anyim by the Chair­man of the Ishiagu Community Development Union, Chief Stanley Anyim.
Governor David Umahi an­nounced the decision to es­tablish the vigilante during the maiden Ishiagu Cultural Day celebration at Ishagu, Ivo Local Government Area, saying that he was talking with the security chiefs in the state with a view to coming up with best strategies to be adopted.
The governor, who was con­ferred with the chieftaincy title of Ebube Agu of Ishiagu, said, “We shall in the coming weeks in September launch our vigi­lantee group. We will conclude plans with commissioner of police so that we will launch Ebonyi vigilantee starting with Ishiagu and Akaeze communi­ties. So, in the month of Sep­tember, you will see a robust as­sistance to the very wonderful work the security agencies are doing in Ishiagu and Akaeze.
