EBONYI ASSEMBLY SUSPENDS FORMER MINORITY LEADER

Ebonyi State House of Assembly has suspended the member representing Afikpo North-East State Constituency, Mrs. Maria Udenwachi for allegedly posing as a public photographer.

In a motion moved by the leader of the House, Chief Joseph Nwobasi, representing Ezza North-East Constituency and seconded by Mrs. Franca Okpo, representing Abakaliki North Constituency, Mrs. Nwachi was accused of gross misconduct for refusing to abide by earlier warning to desist from being a photographer in the State.

The House noted that Mrs. Nwachi, a former Minority Leader, had brought disrespect to herself and dragged the integrity of the Assembly to the mud by posing as a public photographer.

Mrs. Nwachi who was elected on the platform of Progressives People’s Alliance, PPA but defected to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) last year was present at the plenary when the motion for her suspension was moved.

Efforts by Radio Nigeria to get her reaction on the matter were not successful.
