EBONYI AIRPORT WITNESSES INAUGURAL FLIGHT OPERATIONS

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State says the state government spent thirty six billion naira for the construction of the state owned Airport located in Onueke Ezza.

He stated this during the inaugural flight operations at the airport.

Governor Umahi, who named the Airport after President Muhammadu Buhari, recalled how the President approved N10,000,000,000.00 (ten billion naira) to support the construction of the airport.

He noted that President Buhari would visit the state in ten days time to inaurgrate the Airport.

According to Governor Umahi, the state government would sponsor free air ticket for air travellers that may wish to use the Airport for a month while the construction of taxi way would be done.

The Director General Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), represented by a General Manager, Mr. Oladipo Adebayo, called for maintenance culture to sustain the standard of the airport.

Two Commercial aircrafts that took off from Lagos and Abuja carrying some people of the state had earlier landed at the airport.
