The Archbishop of Enugu Ecclesiastical Province, Anglican Communion, the Most Reverend Emmanuel Chukwuma, has joined the call on President Bola Tinubu to put up measures in place to cushion the effects of the suspension of petrol subsidy on the masses.

Archbishop Chukwuma stated this in Enugu while addressing journalists on the state of the nation and his last Synod briefing as Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Anglican Communion.

The Cleric called on the president to take bold decisions to revamp the ailing economy of the country, which he said had been on the steady decline.

Archbishop Chukwuma was of the opinion that the economy needed pragmatic steps to turn it around.

The high priest suggested that greater investment in the education and agriculture sectors would deepen the country’s revenue.

The Anglican Archbishop expressed worry about the alarming brain drain in the Nigerian health sector, urging the Federal Government and other sub-national governments to urgently address issues causing the mass exodus of best hands in the sector.

While congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah in their emergence, he urged them to be fair to all, by shunning marginalization and selective negligence.

The Archbishop particularly urged the political leaders to take urgent pragmatic measures to solve National problems, as they cannot afford to disappoint the people.

The Anglican Archbishop called on the judiciary to deliver impartial and just judgments while commending the United States Government for imposing sanctions on all those alleged to be involved in electoral malpractices during the last general election.

He called on Governor Peter Mbah to, as a matter of urgency, gazette all the Anglican schools, promising that the church would continue to partner government in the development of the state.

The Archbishop admonished the people to continue to trust in God not minding the challenging period, adding that God is more than capable to turn around the situation.
