CORPS MEMBERS GRAB GIFT ITEMS AT NYSC VARIETY NIGHT IN EBONYI

The National Youth Service Corps says it is committed to promoting the nation’s cultural diversity through various outdoor cultural events programmed into the orientation course for corps members.

The Coordinator of the Scheme in Ebonyi State, Mrs. Bamai Mercy, made the remark in a message to the grand finale of Variety Night organized for Corps members at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Old Macgregor College Afikpo.

Mrs. Mercy, who was represented by the Camp Director, Mr. Ngwoke Nwokoro, commended the corps members for their active participation in dancing, drama and beauty pageant, noting that it would help them to have a better understanding of the nation’s cultural heritage.

“We started by dancing and drama and today is the climax of all social events, and you can see how excited the corps members were because of the display of various cultural activities and it’s something that is good,” the NYSC boss said.

The Country Manager of a Production firm, who partnered NYSC for the Variety Night, Mr. Goodluck Mbam, had while doling out gift items to the corps members explained that the gesture was an extension of the positive impact the scheme made in his life as a corps member.
