BOMB EXPLOSION KILLS 3 SCAVENGERS IN IMO

Three middle aged men have lost their lives to bomb explosion that occurred in Eziorsu Community, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State.

The victims Elvis Ukado, Kasiemobi Uzoma and Justice Adiemela were said to be scavengers who visited a dump site in the area to pick metallic objects.

One of the victims was said to have ignorantly picked an explosive metallic device and tried to compress it with an iron object when the device suddenly detonated killing all the three persons at the scene.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer Imo State Police Command, Mr. Orlando Ikoku, said the victims died instantly following the loud explosion that caused panic in the area.

He said that the Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Rabiu Ladodo, had led men of anti bomb squad to the scene where he appealed to the public to always contact security agencies whenever they stumbled into a strange object.

Mr. Ladodo urged the people not to panic as security agents were on top of the situation.
