ANAMBRA STATE: IHITE-NDIOJI ROAD TO BE READY IN TWO WEEKS — GOV.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State has assured the people of Orumba South Local Government Area of completion of the ongoing asphalting work on the Ihite-Ndioji Road in two weeks time.

The Governor gave the assurance while Inspecting the progress of work on the project. The 2.5 kilometer road, which linked Anambra with Abia State, was awarded in February 2019.

Inspecting the facility, Governor Obiano, who stated that the contractor had assured that asphalting would be completed in two weeks, commended them for complying with standard.

Governor Obiano, who said that the road had high economic value to the agrarian community and the state in general, maintainied that his administration would continue to open up roads in the rural areas.

The Commissioner for Works, Mr. Marcel Ifejiofor, said that all aspects of the project had been completed except asphalting. He pointed out that the Ministry had been on ground, monitoring the project, to ensure strict compliance with specifications.

The site engineer, Mrs. Mercy Jackson, assured that the road would be completed before the intensity of the rain.

The Commissioner for Housing, Mr. Mike Okonkwo, and the member representing Orumba South in the State House of Assembly, Mr. Emma Nwafor, while thanking the Governor, said that the project was a promise kept. Top government functionaries and the stakeholders in the community, including the traditional ruler of Ihite, Igwe Benson Ofu, witnessed the event.
