AN ENVIRONMENTAL EXPERT, IDENTIFIES POOR LAND USE HABIT IN NJIKOKA ANAMBRA STATE
An Environmental expert, Dr. Florence Ikegbunam has identified poor land use habit as a major cause of Environmental challenges in the Country.
Dr. Ikegbunam, made the observation while addressing newsmen in Abagana Njikoka Local Government Area in Anambra State.
She noted that human activities such as illegal mining, bush burning, building of structures and weathering lands contributed erosion disaster and other forms of land degredation experenced in all parts of the country. She tress that the constant abuse of the environment was seriousely affecting the Echo-system upon which plants depends for their survival. She however called for attitudinal change among the people and suggested the adoption of environmental best practices such as green living in green planting.
