ACADEMIC STAFF OF COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, IKWO, EBONYI STATE CALL FOR RELEASE OF THEIR JULY SALARY …..others….

IkwoLecturers under the aegis of Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union in College of Education, Ikwo, Ebonyi State have called on the state government to release their July salaries allegedly withheld as a result of audit query issued to the management of the institution.

Presenting eight point resolutions after its meeting in Ikwo, the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Greg Eshaya lamented that nonpayment of their salaries in addition to illegal deduction of salaries since 2015 had subjected them to untold hardship.

Other issues raised by the Lecturers include non-implementation of annual increment as well as non-payment of arrears of thirty five percent Consolidated Polytechnic and Colleges Academic Staff Salaries.

The Union called on the state government to take urgent steps to affiliate the College with the state university as well as to disengage adjunct staff in the institution to reduce its wage bill.

Efforts to get the reaction of the State Commissioner for Education on the matter were not successful.
