ABIA: MAKE HASTE TO RESCUE OUR FOUR MISSING CHILDREN — AFFECTED PARENTS BEG SECURITY AGENCIES

REPORTER: PEACE AGBO

Parents of four missing children in Abia State are calling on security agencies to intensify efforts in search and rescue of their children from their abductors.

The parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chimaobi Agha, who are natives of Ebonyi State and residing at Emeka Ogbuka Compound in Umuagu Ibeku, Umuahia North Local Government Area, of Abia State, made the call while speaking with Radio Nigeria about their missing children.

The mother of the children, Mrs. Oluchi Chimaobi, who sells akara, said she walked her four children to the junction of their street and where the children boarded a tricycle to their school in the morning of November the 27, 2023.

Unfortunately, Mrs. Chimaobi explained that the children could not get to their school nor return home as expected.

Regrettably, over one week now, the children, two of whom are twins, are aged 7, 4 and 2 are yet to be seen, a traumatic situation, and a story better imagined than experienced.

The depressed father, who was away for his brick laying job outside the city when the incident happened, said he was already losing his mind.

It took Radio Nigeria about three kilometres to get to D’great Ambassador College, the school of the missing children located at Nkwoegwu Ohuhu, in Umuahia North Local Government Area.

The premises houses nursery, primary and secondary schools.

In an interview, the school management however confirmed that the children were not in school on the day they were reported missing.

Reacting to the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Abia State, Mrs. Maureen Chinaka, attributed the incident to negligence for the part of the parents.

The PPRO gave an assurance that investigations on the missing children were on top gear to ensure the children were found.

With the development, parents are now advised not to allow their under aged children to go and come back from school on their own as enormous dangers are associated with this trend.
