ABIA GOVERNOR’S WIFE PRESENTS GIFTS TO BABY OF THE YEAR
The wife of the Abia State Goovernor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, has urged pregnant women to always visit government approved health care centers for adequate antenatal care.
Mrs. Ikpeazu made this known when she visited the first baby of the year, little miss Nweze, born at the Federal Medical Center, Umuahia.
She noted that government was committed towards ensuring that infant and maternal mortality were reduced to the barest level in the state.
Mrs. Ikpeazu while describing babies as special blessings and gifts from God urged parents to ensure that they give their babies adequate training they deserved.
The mother of the first baby of the year, Mrs. Mary Ann Nweze and teacher by profession, thanked the wife of the Governor for the visit and promised to bring up the baby with the fear of God.
The wife of the Governor later presented some cash and babies gift items to the first baby of the year and other babies born at the maternity ward of the hospital.
