A NEW IGBO SOCIO CULTURAL GROUP “NDIGBO UNITED FORUM” EMERGES

Some Igbo leaders under the auspices of “Ndigbo United Forum” have reiterated the need for the political unity of the people of Igbo extraction to take their pride of place in the country and for rapid development of the South-East.

They stated this while addressing journalists at the end of its inaugural meeting in Enugu.

The Chairman, board of Trustees of the Forum, Chief Chinedu Mba, said that the forum was committed to negotiate Igbo people back to the political mainstream of the nation through co-existence among other tribes.

Chief Mba noted that the forum was also willing to partner other sister-organisations within and outside Igbo land to ensure the actualization of their dreams and objectives.

The President of the Forum, Mr. Godson Ezenagu, who noted that the unity of Igbo people was vital, said grassroots mobilization of key stakeholders had commenced.

Other members of the forum expressed their readiness to work for the unity of the people of Igbo extraction, noting that the forum had all it took to unite and organise the Igbo tribe.

Members of the forum were drawn from the five the South East States of Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo in addition to Delta and Rivers States.
