6KM OGONOGO-EJI-NDI AGU AKPUGO ROAD IN NKANU WEST TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN 6 MONTHS

Construction work on the one point six kilometre Ogonogo-Eji-Ndi Agu Akpugo road, in Nkanu West Local Government Area has commenced.

The road construction  is very historic as it is said to be the first state government’s presence in the area.

Speaking on the occasion at Amoji-Afor Onovo field, Akpugo Community, the State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said the move was to fulfill one of the campaign promises of his administration  to transform the rural areas.

 

Chief Ugwuanyi while cutting the ribbon for  commencement of  work, noted that the project would ursher in a new era of development in the area.

The State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Greg Nnaji said that materials were on ground for the commencement of construction.

He announced that the road would be completed in less than six months.

The Nkanu West Local Government Chairman, Mr. Henry Okenwa who commended the Governor for the gesture, appealed for the completion of the abandoned  Agbani-Akpugo-Ihuokpara road..

Stakeholders in the area who took turns to express  their appreciation for the project  were former Military administrators of Imo, Osun and Abia States.

Others include Former Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ogbonnaya Onovoh, the Member representing Nkanu West and East in the  House of Representatives, Doctor Chukwuemeka Ujam.
