65 DOCTORS AND RADIOGRAPHERS TO BE EMPLOYED IN ESUT PARKLANE

Over 60 medical doctors and radiographers are to be employed in Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, ESUT, Park Lane.

The Enugu State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Fintan Ekochin made this known while briefing journalists on the outcome of the executive council meeting held at the Government House, Enugu.

Dr. Ekochin said that the doctors referred to as house officers would be numbering 50, while the radiography interns would be 15.

The Enugu State Commissioner for Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr. Chidi Aroh, said the Enugu State Executive Council given a 6 weeks deadline for the rehabilitation of the 233 shelter bus stops and pedestal hand rails in the metropolis.

He said that the move became imperative in a bid to ensure free flow of vehicular movement and also gave 5 days ultimatum for the relocation of 5 critical bus stops at  Agricultural Bank, Abakaliki Road, Abakpa, Agbani Road Bus stops among others.

According to him, the rehabilitation of the hand rails would span from 82 Division to Akwata Bridge and further into coal camp.

Also, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Ogbuagu Anikwe, who led his colleagues for the briefing, expressed the State Government’s dissatisfaction with the turnout in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise.

According to him, the Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, charged council members and stakeholders in the state to ensure that eligible voters were registered regardless of the party affiliation.

The council also reeled out plans to motivate the fire service commission in a bid to boost their service delivery.
