2 ELECTROCUTED IN NSUKKA

The university town of electrocutedNsukka was thrown into mourning, weekend, as a paint manufacturer in Umuakashi Uwani Ugwu community, Samuel Ezema, and an electrician were electrocuted. The paint manufacturer employed the services of an electrician identified as Emmanuel, who hailed from Okpuje in Nsukka Local Government Area, to effect repairs on his faulty factory water pumping machine. The deceased electrician, it was gathered, went into the well at the paint factory (SAMEZ paints) to carry out the repairs. When he was done, late Ezema tried connecting the pumping machine to test the work done. He was said to have unknowingly handled a naked wire. He was electrocuted and crashed into the electrician, who was coming out of the well at the time. They both went down the well and died. Police spokesman for Enugu State Police Command, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident, adding that full scale investigations have commenced to unveil the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of the two, while the bodies have been deposited at Faith Foundation Hospital, Nsukka, for autopsy.
