13 SUSPECTED CRIMINALS NABBED BY POLICE IN ABIA STATE
The Police command in Abia state has paraded thirteen suspected criminals.
Briefing newsmen in Umuahia, the Commissioner of Police in Abia state, Mr. Anthony Ogbizi said that four of the suspects were notorious armed robbers that were terrorizing residents of the State.
He pointed out that the suspects who specialized in car snatching were arrested at various locations through tip-off.
The commissioner of Police also said that four students of Abia State University Uturu suspected to be members of a secret cult were arrested by his men in a bush near the school premises.
Also arrested by the Police was one Uchenna Okorocha from Imo state who was apprehended for being in possession of materials bearing the logo of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
In an interview, the only female suspect, Chika Ugwualaji who claimed to be a second year student of Mass communication in Abia State University Uturusaid she was waiting for her friend beside the bush when she was arrested by the Police.
Items recovered from the suspects include a Sienna vehicle, two locally made guns, some live cartridges, cutlasses, axe, quantities of substance suspected to be Indian hemp, two barrette caps and vest with IPOB logo.
