10 SUSPECTED FRAUDSTERS NABBED BY POLICE IN ABIA STATE

The Police Command in Abia State says it has arrested ten suspected fraudsters who specialized in defrauding unsuspecting persons of their money.

The Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Chris Ezike made this known while speaking with newsmen in Umuahia.

He noted that investigation carried out by police revealed that several criminal offences such as conspiracy, fraud, forgery, obtaining under pretense, operating illegal cooperative societies and financial institutions had been committed by the suspects in Aba.

Commissioner of Police Ezike stated that an investigative panel headed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police had been set up to deal with the situation.

Mr Ezike advised the general public to avoid patronizing unauthorized, illegal and unscrupulous persons or groups who operated illegal financial institutions and cooperative societies in the name of providing quick and big interest to them.

He urged the affected persons to remain calm and report to the panel at the Central Police Station Aba for further necessary action.
