WHO LAUNCHES MOBILE HEALTH INSURANCE IN IMO

The World Health Organization (WHO) has launched a mobile health insurance and dissemination of key health document in Imo State. The purpose is to achieve seamless coverage of the ninety-six percent population in the informal sector of the state on health insurance.

The WHO Nigeria Representative, Dr. Walter Kazadi, explained that the health body through the thirteen General Program of Work (GPW13) was working with member states to achieve Universal Health Coverage and protect citizens from health emergencies and achieve good health.

Dr. kazadi said WHO in Nigeria had enjoyed a productive working relationship in health sector with the Imo State Government in the areas of integrated health surveillance and response; routine immunization and non-polio supplemental immunization; among others.

Imo State Governor Senator, Chief Hope Uzodinma, while commending the country representative, said the state would be more committed to the new partnership to ensure robust health system for Imo citizens.

The event featured handing over of thirteen laptop computers to the state government for data capturing at the venue of the State Executive Council Meeting, Government House Owerri.
