PHILANTROPISTS ASSISTS 14 AMPUTEES WITH ARTIFICIAL LEGS

Fourteen amputees in Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu state have received artificial legs and hands from a non-governmental organization, Barrister Sam Otoboeze Foundation.

At the event which held at Holy Child Catholic Church, Ochima, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Ofodile Okafor (SAN), extolled the benevolence of the founder of the organization, Mr. Sam Otobeze and urged other wealthy individuals to emulate him.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Otoboeze who recounted how he almost lost acquiring education due to financial problem said that he would not relent in assisting the needy.

“We have been doing it for the past three years, every year we assemble people and we put smiles in the face of people; life without service is empty,” he said.

The Enugu State Governor, represented by his special Assistant on legislative matters, Dr. Martins Okeh described Mr. Otoboeze as a worthy son of the state who should be encouraged to do more.

In a goodwill message, the Executive Director Corporate Services Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Alhaji Isa Inuwa, who represented the group managing Director of the corporation, expressed happiness with the gesture.

“It is that kind of spirit that should continue to propel each and every one of us to contribute no matter how little in helping those who are less fortunate than we are.”

Speaking with Radio Nigeria some of the beneficiaries Mr. Nwachukwu Uroko, Mr. Gabriel Ugwuoke and a 10 year old boy, Master ChibuezeEze prayed for their benefactor.

Twenty seven pupils in nursery and primary schools in the area also received scholarship awards on the occasion.
