NSCDC TO PROSECUTE ANYONE FOUND GUILTY IN THE INCIDENT THAT CLAIMED ONE LIFE AT MILLIKI HILL NGWO
The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Enugu State Command says investigations are on-going to ascertain the cause of the incident that claimed one life on the twenty-second of this month.
The Command gave the assurance that anyone found guilty would be made to face the wrath of the law.
The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr. Usman Stev Amoga stated this while contributing to Media Link, a Radio Nigeria Enugu Live Interactive Programme.
Mr. Amoga who expressed displeasure over the incident, explained that the action of his officer who shot in the air to make the driver to stop was not the best option.
The NSCDC Commandant maintained that the Corps had been consistent in ensuring order at the New Market road as instructed by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and described the action of the bus driver as unimaginable.
Mr. Amoga stated that the Corps regretted and sympathized with the family of the deceased victim and assured the people of the State of better services.
He explained that the blocking of the road leading to the New Market by the Command was to douse the tension emanating from the Public, noting that the action was temporal.
Callers in the Programme commended the duties of the NSCDC and called for the immediate arrest of the bus driver in order to answer questions concerning his actions.
