NIGERIAN AIRFORCE CALLS FOR INCREASED FUNDING OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

The Nigerian Air force says increased allocation to vocational education is important to check unemployment in the country.

The Chief of Logistics, Abuja headquarters, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Abubakar, stated this after inspecting some facilities at Air force Comprehensive School, Agbani, Nkanu West Local government Area of Enugu State.

He said adequate funding of vocational education was necessary to train students with skills that would sustain them in life.

Air Vice Marshal Abubakar maintained that Air Force was committed to promoting qualitative education by providing the needed equipment in its institutions for enhanced learning.

Air Vice Marshal Abubakar, noted that some of the facilities in the school were being upgraded to improve the skills of the students to reflect the economic policy of the present administration.

He equally used the opportunity to encourage students, parents and caregivers to explore the inherent opportunities in vocational skills, for their economic empowerment.

Projects inspected were students’ hostels, parameter fences, basketball and volleyball courts, football pitch, e-library among others.
