ENUGU HOLDS ITS ZONAL ART EXHIBITION: “LIFE IN MY CITY”

Government at all levels has been urged to encourage artists by promoting the exhibition of art works to sustain the value and impact in the society.

The special guest at this year’s Art Festival, “Life In My City” exhibition Enugu Zone, made the call at the event held at Alliance Francaise Enugu.

Addressing exhibitors and admirers, the special guest on the occasion, a former Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Professor Bartho Okolo described the exhibition as inspiring as they effectively events in the society.

In a remark, the Director of Academic Planning, Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) and immediate past Head of Fine Arts Department of the institution, Mr. Fidel Udenta, suggested that the content should be localized.

The Art Director, Life in My City, Mr. Ayo Adewumi explained that government support was needed to expand the scope of the exhibition.

An artist in the exhibition, Mr. Samuel Nnorom and a student, Miss Flora Akande described the exhibition as captivating.

This is the 12th edition of Life In My City Art Festival, which is an annual national competition for artists, who are less than thirty-five years.
