EKWEREMADU MARKS 56TH BIRTHDAY WITH FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH FOR THE POOR
Some medical experts have advocated increased awareness on the need for regular medical checks to reduce the rate of sudden deaths among Nigerians especially in the rural areas.
They made the call at a Free Medical Outreach in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State organized to mark the 56th birthday of the Deputy President of the Senate, Chief Ike Ekweremadu.
One of them and leader of the team of doctors for the outreach, Dr. Diwe Ekweremadu, stated that many people were suffering from various diseases ignorantly and called for increase in awareness creation.
Other medical personnel in the team, including Dr. Obumneme Anyim and Dr. Okorie Godfrey, commended the Organizers of the programme and decried inadequate medical personnel and drugs at public health centres.
In a remark, the Chairman, Aninri Local Government Area, Chief Ezekiel Chukwu, said the gesture was in line with Senator Ekweremadu’s commitment to championing the cause of his people.
Some of the beneficiaries thanked Chief Ekweremadu for his benevolence and prayed God to grant him continued good health as he marked his birthday.
More than 1,000 indigent persons from the five communities that make up Aninri Local Government Area benefited from the free medical outreach.
