N-POWER TO ENGAGE 11,000 UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES IN ANAMBRA

Over 11,000 young graduates in Anambra State are to benefit from the Second Phase of the N-Power Programme of the Federal Government.

The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo, who made this known in Onitsha, Anambra State during the Micro Medium and Small Enterprises Clinic, said the Batch would be lunched soon.

Professor Osinbajo said the Federal Government had gone further to refine the program so that it would not just be monthly stipend for the entrepreneurs but would make them self reliant.

The Vice President described Anambra State as home of commerce and industry, with Onitsha and Nnewi as the industrial hubs, not only for the State economy, but to the country.

He commended the State Government for creating favourable environment for business growth and assured the State of Federal Government’s support.

Professor Osibanjo who expressed regret over the neglect of the Small and Medium Enterprises by past administrations, despite their enormous contributions to the nation’s economy, pledged the Federal Government’s commitment to assist such businesses through easy access to funds and reduction in the cost of registration.

The State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, earlier solicited the cooperation of the Federal Government towards supporting entrepreneurs in the State.
