FG to assist local manufacturers to compete favourably in the international market

abaThe Acting President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo says federal government will continue to support small and medium enterprises in the country in order to compete favorably with international manufacturers.

The Acting President made this known at the launch of the maiden edition of micro, small and medium enterprise in Aba, Abia state.

Professor Osinbanjo while describing Aba as the center for small and medium enterprise in Nigeria, urged local manufacturers to ensure that they maintained high standard in their products.

He assured that government would continue to assist local manufacturers in order to ensure their products meet the required standards.

‘’When you say Aba made, you know it’s excellently made and well’’.

Earlier, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu while appreciating federal government for choosing Aba as the first choice for the nationwide micro, small and medium enterprise clinic noted that made in Aba products could
compete favorably with products from other countries.

He called on federal government to assist Small and Medium Enterprises for them to thrive.

‘’The original makers of shoes and clothes such as the ones am wearing have come with NAFDAC, SON, BANK OF INDUSTRY and all those that will assist them in registering their challenges, promoting their products and making them perfect and fit for consumption all over the world’’.

Some of the manufacturers expressed joy for being part of the occasion and called for government’s assistance.
