ANAMBRA STATE GOVERNMENT RESOLVES TO ESTABLISH FIRE STATION AT OCHANJA MARKET

The Anambra State Government has resolved to station a fire fighting vehicle at Ochanja Market in Onitsha to cater for emergency situations.

This Followed a communique issued after a meeting of Ochanja Market Leaders and the State Government at the governor’s lodge Amawobia.

According to the statement, the State Government has also set up a ten member committee, comprising five persons from the Market Association and five from the government.

It states that the terms of reference will mainly focus on the remote and immediate causes of the fire incident.

The statement directs that an access road be constructed round the market by competent contractors and that should commence with immediate effect.

The statement also urges all affected persons who lost items, persons and property in the fire not to report to Alex Ekwueme Square as earlier announced.

It advises them to wait for the reports of the committee that has been constituted, adding that the new date of the meeting will be communicated to them.
