EXPEDITE ACTION ON OTHER DEPLORABLE ROADS IN ABA: EZE UGWUZOR BEGS OTTI

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has promised to restore the lost glory of Aba, the economic hub of the state to ensure its development and transformation.

Governor Otti gave the assurance during a Town Hall meeting organized in Aba by the state Government for constituents of Abia South Senatorial District to mark his one year in office.

He expressed regret that years of poor leadership in the past had thrown Aba into a state of under development and stagnation and noted that the city would not collapse under his watch.

Governor Otti described Aba as a town that people respected because of the numerous opportunities that abound and gave an assurance that the city must record massive socioeconomic growth.

He applauded the Transition Committee Chairmen in the zone for speaking and giving their score cards which showed that they had followed path of the government at the centre.

While assuring them that he had taken note of the demands made by some of the Transition Committee Chairmen, Governor pledged to take appropriate action in addressing them.

Governor Otti urged the people of Abia to feel free to share any progressive ideas that would facilitate the delivery of democracy dividend in the state.

Earlier, the Deputy Governor of Abia, Mr. Ikechukwu Emetu, described the event as an opportunity for Aba residents to interface with the government.

The Chairman of Aba South Traditional Rulers Council, Eze Ugwuzor, thanked the government for the ongoing massive infrastructure development in the state and appealed to the government to expedite action on rehabilitating some other deplorable areas in Aba, especially Uratta Road.

The Leader of the Hausa Community in the Aba, Sariki Bello Shehu, expressed joy for the improved security and socioeconomic development in Aba and encouraged him to sustain the tempo.
