VICTORY RECEPTION: NWIFURU PROMISES SELFLESS SERVICE TO EBONYI PEOPLE

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State says the Supreme Court has redeemed the image of the country following its recent judgment, which upheld the victory of various state Governors, including his, in the March 2023 Governorship Poll.

He stated this while addressing teeming supporters, party faithful and government functionaries, who trooped out en mass to receive him, at the State Executive Council Chamber Abakaliki.

Governor Nwifuru was first received by his teeming supporters, government functionaries and party faithful at Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu before coming down to the capital city, Abakaliki.

Addressing the people who filled the Executive Council Chamber, the Governor, joined by his wife, Maudline, pointed out that the Supreme Court by its judgment had demonstrated the principle of separation of powers and thanked President Bola Tinubu for standing firm for justice and unity of the country.

He also commended the President for charging all the Governors to reunite Nigerians and assured the people of the state that he would serve them selflessly.

Governor Nwifuru, however, expressed disappointment with the conduct of his opponents, who pursued their matter to the Supreme Court, in spite of his entreaties for them to drop their suits and join hands with him to serve the people of the state.

A former Governor of the State, Chief Martin Elechi commended the Governor for overcoming the intrigues to emerge victorious in the court and enjoined him to be focused to enable him to deliver more dividends of democracy to the state.
