POLICE PARADE 60 CRIMINAL SUSPECTS IN ABIA

The Police command Abia State says it has arrested 60 suspected criminals in the last quarter of the the 2023.

Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, Ms. Maureen Chinaka stated this while parading the suspects before Newsmen in Umuahia.

The PPRO, who paraded the suspects on behalf of the State Police Commissioner, Mr. Kenechukwu, Onwuemelie, noted that the command made the arrest at different locations and during various operations.

Ms. Chinaka stated that the command also rescued an abducted child.

She pointed out that the command further arrested two vigilantes, Emmauel Onyebuenyi and Ukandu Onyebuchi, who is the commander of mbutu vigilance group in Osisioma Local Government Area, for allegedly torturing to dead one Alex Ukaegbu who was in their custody.

Items said to have been recovered from the suspects included six locally made single barreled shotguns, nine locally made double-barreled shotguns, five live cartridges, ten vehicles, eight tricycles, five railway sleepers, armored cables and various ATM cards.
