ANAMBRA STATE GOVT/NEPC TRAINS YOUTHS ON E-COMMERCE

Anambra State Government says it will train over one million people in digital trade to sustain E-Commerce innovation in the country.
The Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, announced this during a sensitization to the application of E-Commerce in export business for Small and Medium Enterprises in Awka.
Mr. Udechukwu, who stated that E-commerce was a huge sector in today’s global economy, revealed that the Anambra State Government was working to migrate all its businesses online to create ease of transactions.
In an address, the Anambra State Coordinator, Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Mr. Ndubueze Okeke, explained that the sensitization was organized to expose young innovative entrepreneurs to opportunities in E- Commerce as an export business.
He noted that there was the need for diversification in the economic trajectory of Nigeria.
The NEPC State Coordinator pointed out that today’s global trade focused on deploying digital tools in selling goods and services in the domestic and international markets.
Mr. Okeke said NEPC was mindful of the importance of digital trade in today’s global economy, which was inline with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Guest Speaker, Dr. Peter Ejikeme, dwelt on Exploring Opportunities in E-Commerce.
Dr. Ejikeme enumerated the benefits of E-Commerce and its challenges in Nigeria, while urging government and private organizations to help sustain the infrastructure and legal frame work for consumer protection to enhance its growth.
Over 50 people participated in the programme.
