EBONYI GOV’S WIFE DONATES MATERIALS/CASH TO NEWBORNS, OLD PEOPLE’S HOME
REPORTER: AMECHI ODO
The Wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Mary Maudline Nwifuru, says her office will prioritize the welfare of the less privileged to enable them overcome the harsh economic realities in the country.
She made this known when she visited the Old People’s Home Abakaliki, Mile 4 Hospital, St. Theresa Hospital and Iboko General Hospital to donate mattresses, daipers, food items and cash to the needy and new born.
Mrs. Nwifuru said her visitations were to show love to the babies and to remind the needy at the Old People’s Home that the state government had not abandoned them.
She urged them to continue to pray for the administration of Governor Francis Nwifuru to succeed in his avowed commitment to implement people oriented policies.
One of the beneficiaries, who is also the Caretaker of Old People’s Home, Abakaliki, Mr. John Lekpa, expressed gratitude to the wife of the Governor for the donations.
He, however, said there was urgent need for medical attention and for the home to be expanded as their population had outgrown available bedroom spaces.
