SUPPLEMENTARY ELECTION COMMENCES SMOOTHLY IN EBONYI

Supplementary Election is going on smoothly in many polling units visited so far in the seven Local Government Areas where the exercise is slated to hold in Ebonyi State.

At EBSU Primary School 1, polling unit 010 and EBSU Primary School 011, Abakaliki voters were seen casting their votes after accreditation.

The situation was the same at Achi Junction by Udemezue polling unit 019 in Abakaliki Local Government Area.

The Presiding Officer, Mr. Paul Oketa, told Radio Nigeria that the Bimodal Verification and Accreditation System (BIVAS) was working perfectly while the turn out of voters was appreciative.

However, an observer, who gave his name as Victor, complained of laxity on the part of security agencies, noting that the polling unit had recorded some infractions.

Also at Community Primary School Umuome Orieuzor, voters were seen exercising their franchise unhindered.

One of the voters, Mr. Obinna Nwanne, said the exercise was peaceful.
