POLICE PARADE FOUR SUSPECTS FOR MURDER OF EBONYI PDP CHAIRMAN

Ebonyi State Police Command has arrested four men in connection with the murder of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Ezza North Local Government Area of the state, Mr. Peter Nweke.

Parading the suspects, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mrs. Onome Onovwakpoyeya, explained that Mr. Nweke was dragged away by gunmen from his polling unit in Umuezekoha and tortured to death.

The PPRO who gave the names of the suspects as Leonard Kelechi; a House of Assembly Labour Party Candidate, Onyebuchi Chita from Nkomoro community; Aloke Obinna from Ogboji Community and Ifeanyi Nwokputu from Ogboji Community, all in Ezza North Local Government Area.

Mrs. Onovwakpoyeya said the command also declared 21 persons wanted in connection with the murder.

They include one Akwasi, who allegedly led the torture gang and a human right activist, Comrade Samson Nweke, who is said to be the younger brother to the slain PDP Chairman.

She noted that those arrested would be taken to court after investigations.

All the suspects denied any involvement in the murder of the PDP Chairman.
