MARCH 18 POLLS: NOA ENCOURAGES IMO VOTERS NOT TO LOSE HOPE IN INEC

REPORTER: CHINAZO ILECHUKWU

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged the electorate in Imo State to come out in their numbers and vote candidates of their choice in the Saturday’s House of Assembly election.

The Director of the Agency in Imo State, Mrs. Maureen Oparaji, made the call while speaking with Radio Nigeria in Owerri.

She urged the people not to lose confidence in the ability of INEC to conduct credible elections, noting that votes will definitely count in the final analysis.

Mrs. Oparaji explained that NOA had embarked on sensitization of residents, especially those in the rural areas to the need to participate in the electoral process.

She said that though Imo State would not be having governorship election until later in the year, there was the need to take the legislative election seriously due to the strategic nature of that arm of government.

The NOA Director said she was satisfied with the level of preparedness of INEC for the election and expressed optimism that the hitches experienced during the February 25 polls would not be repeated.
