YULETIDE: GOV UZODIMMA PAYS IMO WORKERS 13TH MONTH SALARY

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has approved the payment of 13th month salary to all Imo civil servants for the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New year celebrations.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Declan Emelumba, made this known after an executive Council meeting in Owerri.

Mr. Emelumba announced that the workers would be given rice and other food items to enable them enjoy the season.

He noted that the Governor had directed the promotion of workers, who suffered stagnation in the past and new payment be effected.

According to the Commissioner, the Federal University of Technology, Owerri Teaching Hospital is now actualised and that the necessary institutional structures and other necessities to make it a full University Hospital are being put in place.

Mr. Emelumba announced that the management of the institution had already asked for a date for the state government to supervise the hospital.

He noted that the facility would generate more employment opportunities of different categories of Imo indigenes.

The Commissioner further stated that the School of Nursing, Aboh Mbaise and Awo-mamma had gained their accreditations and that academic activities would resume fully.
